Akshay Khanna and Dimple Kapadia in Dil Chahta Hai
A poignant and unconventional saga of unrequited love a young artist had for a much mature and dying divorcee. There was a sense of purity and sense of selfless in the beautiful portrayal of their relationship. Both Akshay Khanna and Dimple Kapadia did fabulous job in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai.
Shah Rukh Khan and Suchitra Krishnamurthi in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na
Shahrukh Khan’s own personal favourite character Sunil in the movie Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na was charming , goofy , adorable and madly in love with Anna (Suchitra Krishnamurthi) so much that we could feel the pain he experienced in the movie on losing the love of your life to someone else.
Dilip Kumar and Nargis in Andaz
Beautiful saga of unrequited love turned really ugly in the end of the movie resulting in destruction of many lives. The audience have been clearly divided between Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor but at one point everyone did empathise with poor Dilip who in the movie had to let go the girl he was madly in love with.
Sridevi and Vinod Khanna in Chandni
So Lalit had been unlucky in love once , lost his lovely fiancée and his colorful life turns black and white . Then enters Chandni , who too by the way had been recently heartbroken . They meet , they instantly gel with each other but the problem arises when Lalit’s feelings for Chandni don’t get reciprocated .
Shahrukh Khan and Karishma Kapoor in Dil To Pagal Hai
A fine example of one best friend getting friendzoned by the other best friend . So Rahul and Nisha , two good looking young adults who have been friends for years and now are professionally associated live together , literally. Nisha is head over heels in love with Rahul quiet evidently but Rahul doesn’t want to acknowledge that as he is too cool for love and relationships unless of course a more ‘feminine‘ and more ‘beautiful‘ woman in some god knows what traditional sense appears. Quiet silly concepts but the fact doesn’t wither away that the projection of unrequited love in the movie , all thanks to brilliant Karishma Kapoor was poignant and beautiful .
