Poem – Ode To Mussoorie

In my longing for the permanence

Unappeased cravings that do not end

I have failed to escape the fickle world

To reach a peaceful destination.

Nothing was pacifying me

Been patting my restless heart.

Then

A heavenly body caught my eyes

Appareled in the green scarf.

I pulled down the window

Let the cool breeze caress me

Leaving the desolate past behind

Let the moment indulge me.

If I place on one scale the worldly treasure

On the other the Himalaya’s Heart

I know which one would be heavier

For nothing compares to this delight.
